Hydrophobic RDP is a special-purpose grade developed for mortars exposed to high‑humidity conditions.
Hydrophobic RDP is a special-purpose grade developed for mortars exposed to high‑humidity conditions. It reduces water absorption of hardened mortar and creates water-repellent surface performance.
Different from full waterproofing agents, hydrophobic RDP keeps mortar vapor‑permeable. It allows moisture inside the substrate to escape, avoiding blistering and delamination. It is commonly applied in exterior putty, exterior insulation finishing mortars and other outdoor mortar systems.
Proper dosage is essential: higher loading does not always bring better water‑repellent effect. Formulation tests are required to find the optimal addition rate for each mortar system.
